Before moving to Coconut Grove, checkout what this beautiful city has to offer – Coconut Grove, also known as “The Grove”, is the oldest neighborhood in Miami, Florida. What is now known as Coconut Grove was formed in 1925, when Greater Miami annexed two areas of similar size, the city of Coconut Grove and most of the city of Silver Bluff.

Coconut Grove is very close to Coral Way and Coral Gables and many of its inhabitants are proud that The Grove is one of the greenest areas in the Greater Miami region.

Lifestyle at The Grove – Relaxed, easygoing

The Grove has several festivals and outdoor events, among them is the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, one of the main ones. Another interesting event is the King Mango Strut, which takes place every year, on the last Sunday of December.

The Great Taste of the Grove Food & Wine Festival takes place every April. In June, there is the Goombay Festival, which turns Grand Avenue in Coconut Grove into a great party in the style of the Caribbean Carnival, celebrating Bahamian culture, with island food and typical Caribbean music (Junkanoo).

The Grove has several restaurants, open-air and street-side cafes, and several beachfront restaurants and bars. At night, Grove becomes a nightlife hub frequented by locals, young professionals, students from the nearby University of Miami and Florida International University as well as tourists.

Shopping alternatives abound in Coconut Grove, with two malls, CocoWalk, Streets of Mayfair, and several other high street stores and boutiques.

The Village Center, which houses most of the retail and restaurant businesses in Grove, also offers gyms, multiplex cinema in CocoWalk, as well as several garages with abundant parking.

The Real Estate Market in Coconut Grove

Because of the excellent location and the excellent quality of life, the real estate market in Coconut Grove is always very heated. At any time of the year, it is possible to find several properties for sale, in addition to, of course, a large number of rental properties.

According to Realtor.com, in February 2021, the average sale price of a residence in Coconut Grove was around US $ 1.2 million dollars, with an upward trend of 16.5% compared to 2020. This value refers to any category of residential property, and includes apartments, townhouses and houses, as well as inside and outside condos.

With regard to the rent, prices vary widely. The average price for a 1 bedroom apartment is approximately US $ 1,550 and costs around US $ 2,800 for a 2 bedroom unit. In areas considered noble, closer to the ocean, the values increase considerably.

If your family prefers to live in a house, the rent can range from $ 1,200 for a small, simpler home to up to $ 7,000 for a high-end 4 or 5 bedroom residence.

If possible, visit the region, familiarize yourself with the different areas and, after choosing the school, make sure you really like the place. The key is that you do a lot of research, stay close to the region, go out a little at night and feel the atmosphere of the place.

Dedicating time and effort can seem tedious and boring, but change is always a lot of work and we are sure that your family deserves it!
